Waste collection campaigns around the World CleanUp Day 2023
Müllsammelaktion

200 kilograms of trash in Cologne and a total of 61 30-liter bags of trash in Hamburg - that is the result of our two self-organised cleanup campaigns around World CleanUp Day 2023. About 40 employees from Delvag Versicherungs-AG, Albatros Versicherungsdienste GmbH and Albatros Financial Solutions GmbH as well as other colleagues from other Lufthansa Group subsidiaries took part. And even the youngest employees lent a hand: To make the event family-friendly, our employees could of course bring their children along.

Christian Stock, actor and initiator of the waste collection project K.R.A.K.E. ("Kölner Rhein-Aufräum-Kommando-Einheit") e.V., opened our day with an impulse lecture about the littering of the world's oceans and then also accompanied the clean-up action in Cologne.

After the successful collection, we ended the day together with cool drinks and a delicious buffet.

By the way: On the initiative of the help alliance, waste collection campaigns were held by Lufthansa Group companies throughout Germany. In Frankfurt and in Munich, our colleagues also joined the campaigns of other companies.

The best thing: The cleanup was not only about cleaning up our environment. For every full bag of trash, the Lufthansa Group donates 5 euros to the help alliance.

Altogether, more than 4,400 Lufthansa Group colleagues from 22 nations participated in the help alliance's trash collection campaigns in September 2023. A total of more than 4,800 bags of trash were gathered, and the Lufthansa Group donated more than 24,000 euros to the help alliance.
