Our long-standing commitment to the "Förderverein für krebskranke Kinder e.V. Köln"
Martin Schmatz and Monika Burger-Schmidt (Managing Director of Förderverein für krebskranke Kinder e.V. Köln) handing over a book donation

We have been supporting the Förderverein für krebskranke Kinder e.V. Köln with donations of money and in-kind for around 25 years. The donations directly benefit the parents' home for affected families. It offers parents and families a temporary home during their child's treatment with its 15 family apartments, common rooms, play and craft rooms, and a playground. The staff of the parents' home are always available to offer advice and support to the families. At activities such as the monthly joint breakfast and regular house evenings, parents have the opportunity to exchange ideas and experiences.

This year, our Board Member Martin Schmatz visited the parents' home: "Supporting this association means a lot to Delvag. The initiative provides important help for families in a very difficult situation and what the people here are doing is admirable. We are happy to be able to contribute a small part with our donations."

Reliable donors are very important for the sponsoring association. "Beyond that, we do not receive any grants or subsidies. Donations give us the opportunity to make new acquisitions, carry out renovation work or use the money in other places where it is particularly lacking", says Monika Burger-Schmidt, Managing Director of Förderverein für krebskranke Kinder e.V. Köln.
